Joe's injury
Joe is reportedly completely injured from head to... well torso. He has lost his face (including eyes, mouth, nose, and ears), his arms, and his legs. This not only heavily affect his physical being, but also his mental being. How can you even consider yourself to be alive if you can talk, move, or communicate with any person. This is one of the thoughts that plagues Joe's mind throughout the first part of the book as he progresses along and tries to live with his injuries.

I definitely have to agree with what you said about his conditon affecting his phsyical and mental being. I personally like that you acknowledged this. I also like how he thinks about what makes a person alive, after all the only thing that keeps him alive is his mind.
Hey RJ,
I agree with your blog. You question how one could consider themselves alive if they are so unable, like Joe. I do find myself asking the same question. It rather seems like Joe is suffering more now that he has lost all his abilities. He is basically like this living science project to the nurses and doctors at the hospital, being that they are trying to see how long he lives. If I were Joe, I would not want to keep living like this. It not only seem uncomfortable physically, but mentally as well.
Good information presented in this blog.
